Hello World

Well, today is the great escape. The weasel hits the road. Please drive carefully and report any damage (bugs) you discover. Its a pretty young creature and still needs a lot of affection.

To get it straight: We're somewhat happy to release XMMS Weasel v0.0.1. Download the source, ./configure && make && sudo make install, restart XMMS and simply dock XMMS at the top of your screen.

Please feel free to contribute packages for the various Linux distributions, *BSDs and - hum - is Solaris still around?

Go ahead. Play with it, have fun with it and show it to your friends. You got some, right?

It'd be nice if it could slide to the left or right as well, some of us have top menu bars :)

Does not work for me:
The build and install process ends ok, I activate the plugin in xmms 1.2.10 but nothing happens...
I'm using Fedora Core 1...

It has some trouble with the Gnome-2.4 panels if they are located at the top of the screen.
In that situation I am able to "push" xmms further out of the screen, so that I have to retreat to the desktop for a second or two until xmms returns, whereupon I can move the mouse slowly towards the border, until the plugin triggers and unfolds the window.
I'll look into it tomorrow, but I don't know the code yet, so it will certainly go a lot faster if you (the authors) take a look at this "bug / hidden feature" as well.

Thank you for your "bug / hidden feature" report :)
I'm also using Gnome2.4 with a top panel. So, I will have a look at this strange behavior.
Furthermore, we will release a new version with a lot of new features, like sliding in (out) to the left or right and so on...
